Heaven & the Suicide King (1998)

This movie touches on that premise and does it well with a disjointed time line. The 'new' couple that starts husband and wife swapping with three other couples really run through the gament of emotions until the jealously factor becomes too overwhelming. That's when this picture really starts moving.
