Ye gu niang (1966)

Ye gu niang 1966 I saw this movie in the 70s when I was a little girl and loved it I am now going through my old LPs and found the soundtrack It is still wonderful to listen to, and I dont understand a thing they are saying It is basically about a self assured farm girl who is wooed through song by a farm boy However, some urban boys singing some hilarious 60s poprock n roll try to get her their way To some ears, the high pitch womens voice can take some getting a bit of used to but the singing is quite good I saw a similar film around the same time, but it was farm girl versus the mean landowners most likely generated by the Communist party It was still very entertaining
